Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most important questions about our heavy-duty plates, ordering and delivery.

Products & Material

What material are the heavy-duty plates made of?
Our plates are made from high-quality recycled PVC granulate with high mechanical strength.

The surface has rubber-like characteristics: anti-slip, antibacterial and easy to clean. The material is UV-stable, frost-resistant and impervious to oils and weathering.

This combines sustainability with industrial quality.
How heavy is a single plate?
The large heavy-duty plates (120×80 cm) weigh approximately 35 kg each. Their high self-weight ensures they stay securely in place without shifting. No screwing required.

The compact universal mats (50×50 cm) weigh approximately 6.5 kg each.
What plate sizes and thicknesses are available?
We offer three product lines: The Heavy-Duty Plate (120×80 cm, 32 mm thick), the Universal Mat (50×50 cm, 55 mm with honeycomb structure) and the Pro Drainage Mat (125×80 cm, 40 mm). View all products in our Shop.
Are the plates UV-resistant and frost-proof?
Yes. All our plates are UV-stable and frost-resistant. They can be used outdoors year-round without becoming brittle or warping.
Are the plates B1-certified (flame retardant)?
Yes. Our 120×80 cm heavy-duty plates are B1-certified (flame retardant) according to DIN 4102-1. This makes them approved for use at public events, exhibition stands and marquees.

Applications

Can I use the plates as a temporary construction road?
Absolutely. The 120×80 cm heavy-duty plates are rated for trucks, excavators and heavy construction equipment up to 120 t. They are used on construction sites as temporary access roads, crane pads and container yards. More info on the Construction category page.
Are the plates suitable for horse paddocks and stables?
Yes, they are ideal. The anti-slip surface protects hooves, joints and tendons.

Stable benefits:
  • Absorb vibrations and footfall noise. Horses rest noticeably more frequently and for longer.
  • Bedding requirements are significantly reduced, as only a minimal amount of shavings is needed for urine absorption.
  • Unlike straw, the PVC mats do not rot and produce no dust. Ideal for horses with allergies.
  • Thermally insulating against ground cold.
Details on our Horse & Stable page.
Can I install the plates in my garage?
Yes. Our PVC plates are floating-installed, with no adhesive and no tradesmen needed.

They are oil-resistant, impact-resistant and provide noticeable insulation from the cold below. Perfect for car parks, motorhome garages and hobby rooms. Learn more.
Are the plates rated for trucks and tractors?
Yes. The large heavy-duty plates (120×80 cm, 32 mm) are rated for heavy loads up to 120 t. This includes trucks, excavators, forklifts and tractors.

Installation & Care

How are the plates installed?
The large plates (120×80 cm) are laid in a floating bond using connection elements on two edges. Simply lay them on the surface, plate by plate.

No levelling or extensive ground preparation is needed. The plates adapt to the terrain shape.

The 50×50 cm mats feature a tool-free tongue-and-groove interlocking system. No screwing, no adhesive, no drying time.
Do I need special tools for installation?
No. Installation is completely tool-free. The rebate or click system allows the plates to simply snap together. For cutting (if needed), a standard jigsaw is sufficient.
How do I clean and maintain the plates?
The plates can be easily cleaned with a pressure washer, garden hose or broom. The PVC material is water-repellent and does not absorb dirt or odours.

Unlike straw, the mats do not rot and produce no dust. A hygienic advantage especially in stable environments.
Can I lay the plates directly on grass or natural ground?
Yes. The plates can be laid on a wide variety of surfaces:
  • Gravel
  • Concrete
  • Asphalt
  • Meadows and green areas
  • Uncompacted natural ground
No levelling of the terrain is required. The plates adapt to the ground shape. For permanently high-traffic areas, we recommend a gravel sub-base for optimal load-bearing capacity.
